First of all, I would like to suggest to you a book named Damn Good Advice (For People With Talent!)” which is a look into the mind of one of America’s most legendary creative thinkers, George Lois. This book offers indispensable lessons, practical advice, facts, anecdotes, and inspiration, this book is a timeless creative one for all those looking to succeed in life, business, and creativity. These are key lessons derived from the life of ‘Master Communicator’ George Lois, the original Mad Man of Madison Avenue.

Trust me you’ll never regret reading this book. You will also enjoy the author’s writing style, which contains interesting pictures and also gives a marketing idea.

Let’s move on to the topic:

1)Spend Time in Nature.

Do you ever feel better after you go for a walk outside or go to a park or a garden for relaxation?

Spending time in nature works like a magic. It refreshes our mood, reduces our stress level and anxiety, and boosts our confidence. Research indicates that time spent in nature is connected to cognitive and mental health benefits, as well as improvements in mood and emotional well-being. Spending time in nature will help to make you less stressed and depressed. In a world overcome with worries and distractions taking the time to get outside can help relieve some of those daily stresses. Getting into the great outdoors has a calming effect on our minds even if it’s just for a little bit each day. So, for your next vacation or study break, explore the amazing natural areas near campus and throughout the city.

2)Lower Your Expectations.

“My expectations were reduced to zero when I was 21. Everything since then has been a bonus.” ~ Stephen Hawking

Researchers at University College London created a formula to predict happiness levels. They discovered that feeling happy depends not on how well things are going overall, but on whether they are going better than might be expected.

The team invited 26 people to play a gambling game where they could choose to stick with receiving 40p each game or gamble and possibly win 90p but maybe win nothing. They found that accumulating wealth did not make people happier, but the expectation of acquiring more money did make happiness levels shoot up, particularly if people were not expecting to win big.

If you want to live a peaceful life, you have to lower your expectations and let go of the urge to control everything around you. When you stop anticipating every possibility and live life on a day-to-day basis, your life will dramatically become more peaceful.

My advice is to keep your expectations high on achievement and low on people.

3)To Live A Peaceful Life, Prioritize!

“The key is not to prioritize what’s on schedule but to schedule your priorities” ~Stephen Convey

Prioritize the most needed material possessions only. If you can minimize the number of things you own, by keeping smaller items or what’s really needed only, it can help you to live a simpler life. In turn, you feel less overwhelmed and more at ease in your daily living. Establishing priorities is necessary in order to complete everything that needs to be done. Prioritization is important because it allows you to give your attention to tasks that are important and urgent so that you can later focus on lower priority tasks.

It’s always difficult to prioritize work, school, and family. If you want to do your job efficiently, you have to learn to prioritize.

Sit for a while and think you have spent hours and hours on a work task by compromising your health, family, and friends. Is this the way to lead a so-called great successful life, but are you really at peace? Stop for a minute and ask yourself. Then prioritize accordingly.

4)Practice Forgiveness.

“Forgive others, not because they deserve forgiveness but because you deserve peace” ~ Mel Robbins

Forgiveness helps us feel light and helps us get rid of hard feelings that occupy our minds and heart and eat away our peace of mind. People who can readily forgive others are much more responsible and satisfied inside than those who keep grudges against others and develop feelings of enmity. Forgiveness is a way to self-fulfillment.

We all make mistakes. So when we learn to forgive others, we can also seek forgiveness when we commit follies. Also if we are able to forgive others, we also learn to forgive ourselves in situations of self-guilt. Thus the virtue of forgiveness helps us come out of the feeling of self-blame. If we fail to forgive ourselves in time, we often end up realizing that others had forgiven us long back, but we kept feeling bad about ourselves all this time.

Forgive yourself for what you planned but didn’t do, this prevents you from self-guilt. Forgive others for having misunderstandings, fights, backbitings, etc.

After all, we should be forgiven by God for our deeds.

Creativity can solve almost any problem because the defeat of habit by originality overcomes everything.” ~ George Lois
